Three people were killed and about 12 others injured after being attacked by a bull in a village in the Hasanpur area here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday in Chak Mandya village, and the animal, who was chased by the villagers all day, was also found dead in the fields this morning, they said.

The six-year-old bull died of hypovolemic shock due to excessive running, the post-mortem report said.

"The bull was not normal and was attacking the villagers. I have visited the spot. I am in touch with higher authorities to prevent such incidents in the future," said Santosh Mishr, SP Amroha.

Additional Director Veterinary Rakesh Mohan said, "The stray animals are not treated well by the society and when they do not get food they often become violent and such incidents happen.
