Three persons were killed after lightning struck them at Melakuniyoor in the district today, police said.
Police said Senthilvelmurugan, M Murgan and M Vijay were taking food from a house when lightning struck them.
While Velmurugan and Murugan were killed on the spot, Vijay died on the way to hospital.
Another person in the area became deaf after struck by lightning, police said.
