The deceased included two women passengers.
The mishap occurred at around 10 AM when a speeding tempo hit the autorickshaw at a turning point in Vasant Vihar area.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the head of one of the victims was cut off, police said.
While the tempo driver fled soon after the accident, his vehicle has been seized.
The autorickshaw driver sustained injuries in the mishap and has been rushed to hospital, police added.
