Three people, including a mother-son duo, were killed and two injured in separate accidents in Baran and Kota districts of Rajasthan, the police said today.

The deceased, Gayatri Galav (48) and her son Dinesh Galav, were killed last night when the motorcycle they were riding collided head-on with another near Baran's Madhopur village, head constable of Kishanganj police station Rohit Kumar said.

They were returning home from a nearby village after celebrating 'Raksha Bandhan'.

Babulal Kavit (30) and his 17-year-old brother-in-law, who were riding the other motorcycle, sustained critical injuries, Kumar said.

The four were rushed to a government hospital in Baran, where Gayatri Galav and her son were declared brought dead, the head constable said.

The bodies were handed over to their family today morning after a post-mortem, he said, adding that Kavit has been booked for negligent driving.

In another accident, a 35-year-old man, identified as Mahaveer Suman, was killed after his motorcycle went over the road divider and overturned near the toll plaza at the Kota four-lane highway, head constable of Mandana police station Babulal said.

Suman, a resident of Kota's Anantpur area, died on the spot, he added.

"He was immediately rushed to Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) hospital in Kota where the doctors declared him brough dead," Babulal said.

Suman's body was handed over to his family today morning after a post-mortem and a case has been registered under section 174 (unnatural death) of the CrPC, he said, adding that an investigation is underway.
