Three killed, two injured in road mishap

Three persons were killed and two others seriously injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling hit a road divider in Assam's Bongaigaon district, police said today.

Four youths, all students of a college in Barpeta, along with a driver had gone to see a fair last night at Bijni in Chirang district and as they were returning early this morning, the driver of the car lost control and hit the divider killing three of them on the spot near Manikpur in Bongaigaon district.

The three students who died in the mishap have been identified as Jahanur Islam, Pritam Mani Das and Mokaddas Ali Hussain while the other student Najrul Khan and driver of the vehicle Ganesh Chetri were critically injured and admitted to Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital here.
