According to sources, the animals were apparently electrocuted after a high-tension electricity cable fell on them.

Suspecting that the incident might have occurred a week back, authorities have denied that the animals were poached as the decomposed carcasses did not bear any injury marks.

When contacted, officials of Khapa police station, under whose jurisdiction the tiger reserve falls, denied knowledge of the bodies being found.
