Three Maoists were arrested from separate places in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bastar region, police said today.

Two hardcore cadres - Jilaram Jaggu (24) and Manaru (28)- were nabbed by the Special Task Force from Geedam police station limits of Dantewada district last evening, Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.

Acting on a tip-off that the ultras had arrived at their native Arla village in Geedam region, around 450 kms from the state capital, a squad of STF was mobilised towards the place, Kashyap said.

After encircling the village, the security personnel nabbed the two Naxals, who were involved in an attack on police party, abduction and various other offences in the region, he said.

In another incident, a rebel was apprehended from Kanker district's Antagarh police station region.

Mangau Ram (36) was caught by a joint team of district police and Border Security Force while he was keeping a tab on the movement of security personnel in Upperkamta forest, a police officer said.

The Naxal was wanted in connection with several criminal offences, including murder, attack on police party and torching vehicles, he said, adding that the interrogation of the nabbed rebel was on.
