A case was registered against the owner of a firm and two of his employees after police arrested three Maoists and seized Rs 28 lakh collected by them from a firm in naxal affected West Singhbhum district today, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police of West Singhbhum Pankaj Kamboj said a case has been registered against the owner of Ores India, Vinay Pasari, manager of the company and the cashier Ajay Kumar Singh.
Addressing a press conference here Kamboj said, Ores India has been engaged in raising and transporting iron-ore for SAIL and the company had already paid Rs 10 lakh as levy to the Maoists about six months ago.

They came in a vehicle and handed over the amount to the three arrested Maoists between Tumsahi and Rego villages, the SP said adding that the police, which has laid a trap following a tip-off, arrested three ultras but the company officials managed to escape.
The arrested Maoists have been identified as Amit Hansdah alias Chandan, Suryam alias Siaram alias Ramlal and Charmia Cherwa, he said.
The arrested Maoists were handed over a letter written by their leader Sandip and collected the levy among, the SP said.
Police has also seized a letter in reply given by the Ores India intimating about the full and final instalment paid today.
