Three Maoists held in Bihar

Three Maoists, including a self-styled zonal commander was arrested today from a village under Daudnagar police station area in Bihar's Aurangabad district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hide out in Chaudi village and arrested a hardcore CPI(Maoist) ultra Kailu Prajapati alias Akashji, who carried a reward of Rs three lakh, with his two other associates Munna Rajak and Munna Prajapati, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Upendra Kumar Sharma said.

Kailu Prajapati, said to be the self-styled area commander of the CPI(Maoist) of Rafiganj-Goh zone, was wanted in connection with over a dozen cases of naxal violence in the district, he said.
 

A country-made stengun, a pistol, besides 16 ammunitions of AK-47 gun and pistol and three uniforms of the STF were recovered from possession of the ultras, who have been sent to jail, Sharma said.

The SP said that the cops involved in arrest of the Maoists trio will be suitably rewarded.
