Three Maoists held with AK-56 gun

Three Maoists were arrested with an AK-56 gun and 50 rounds of ammunition from a village under Saraiya police station area of Muzaffarpur district today, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off about gathering of some Maoists, police raided Gorigawan village and nabbed three ultras from the riverine area and seized an AK-56 gun, a magazine, 50 rounds of ammunition, besides a pair of uniform used by Maoists, Senior Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar said.

One of the arrested Maoists has been identified as Amit Sahni alias Kamleshji, a native of Saran district.

Sahni, said to be a member a zonal commander of the CPI(Maoist) in Saran zone, was wanted in over a dozen cases of murder, loot and dacoity, the SSP added.
 

The identity of the other two was not yet to be ascertained.
