Three-member gang busted in Vizag, gold, cash recovered

Police today arrested a three-member criminal gang and recovered 500gm gold jewellery, Rs 4,000 in cash and 10 sarees from them.

Interesting, the trio had formed the gang when they were in Central prison here serving separate jail terms for house break-ins, chain snatching and theft, police said.

The arrested were identified as Kosanu Siva Ganesh (25), a native of Vizianagaram district, Thamarapu Raju (24) and Pilakala Srinu alias Deepali (24), both residents of Kommadhi area here.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) S Varada Raju said the trio had stolen about 690gm gold ornaments, some cash and sarees.

After they got out of prison, the trio formed a gang and committed 14 offences, he said.
