Three members of smugglers gang were arrested here with smack worth over Rs 1.6 crore in international market, police said today.
During checking, a Bolero jeep was intercepted and 1.6 kg smack estimated to be worth Rs 1.6 crore in International market was recovered in Madnapur police station area here yesterday, SP (rural) Shivram Yadav said.
Three persons -- identified as Zaheer, Kailash and Jitendra were arrested, while Sagir and Virendra Gupta managed to escape, Yadav said ,adding that those arrested belong to a smugglers gang active since the past sometime.
They said they had brought the contraband from Nepal and were on their way to supply it in Farrukhabad, Etah and Etawah districts.
