Three men including two policemen and a Bangladeshi citizen have been arrested by the Manpada police for allegedly abducting and extorting a ransom of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor, the police said here today.
They have been charged under Section 364A, Section 392, Section 323, Section 170 of the Indian Penal Code, besides Section 3A and Section 6A of the Passports Act, the police said.
Those arrested have been identified as Balchandra Patil and Kumar Pujari who are cops, besides one Jillu Rehman alias Gabbar Muzzamil Haque of Bangladesh.
The police refused to give further details for known reasons.
