Three militants nabbed in Assam

Two hardcore NDFB(S) militants and a Muslim Tiger Force of Assam (MTFA) ultra have been apprehended by security forces in two separate incidents in Assam today.

Acting on specific information, army and police personnel launched a joint operation in Chirang district and apprehended two hadrcore NDFB(S) militants, a defence spokesman said here today.

The militants have been identified as Philip Basumatary alias B Phangka and Bipin Brahma alias B Bindw.

A 7.62 mm pistol, some ammunition and a grenade were also recovered from the two militants.

In another incident, a joint team of the police and army nabbed a Muslim Tiger Force of Assam (MTFA) militant during an operation in Fakiragram area of Kokrajhar district.
 

The militant has been identified as Mominul Ali and a pistol and some ammunition have been recovered from his possession, the spokesman added.
