Three minor girls drown in Bihar's East Champaran

Three minor girls drowned while taking bath in a pit filled with water in Bihar's East Champaran district on Tuesday afternoon, an official said.

Banjaria Block Circle Officer (CO) Mani Verma said that four girls had gone to take bath in a pit filled with water but three of them slipped into deep waters and drowned while one girl was saved by the local people.

The bodies have been fished out from the water body with the help of villagers and sent to Motihari Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Chandni Khatoon (12), Gulshan Ara (12) and Shabnam Ara (11), the CO said adding that all the three deceased were residents of Ajgari Churiharwa village.
