Three persons were arrested today when they were trying to sell at a high price two metal idols, said to be antique and made of 'Panchaloha', police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, city Task Force, I Chittibabu conducted a raid at a guest house in the city and apprehended the trio, the ACP said in a statement.
Those arrested have been identified as Kuppa Ravi and Rowthu Ramu, both belonging to Vizianagaram, and Ramathota Trinadh Kumar, hailing from Visakhpatnam, he said, adding the two idols of goddesses, said to be made of Panchaloha, were recovered from them.

The accused Ravi was in possession of the idols for many years and, to sell the same, associated with Ramu and Kumar, who came to know about the sale of antique goods, he said.
He said that they visited the said guest house and were waiting for the buying party, when the Task Force team nabbed them.
The apprehended persons and the seized idols have been handed over to Station House Officer, 4th Town police station for further investigation, he said.
