Three Jharkhand MLAs today urged a section of the media not to treat them as Independents as they got winning certificates from the Election Commission as party candidates.

"I fought elections on Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) ticket and got winning certificate from the EC in the name of my party...At one point of time our party had one MP and five MLAs and is a registered party," MCC MLA Arup Chatterjee said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch MLA Bandhu Tirkey and Jharkhand Party (JP) MLA Enos Ekka have also claimed that they fought on party tickets and be treated as such.

Both the MLAs said they had contested 2009 polls on party tickets and also had submitted letters of support during previous government formations as party legislators.

Their reactions came in the wake of a section of media clubbing them in the Independents' list.

While Chatterjee and Tirkey have sent letters of support to the JMM in the formation of a new government, Ekka has set written assurance on fulfilling a 15-point charter of demands of his Jharkhand Party.
