"The advertised prize money of about Rs 7.15 crore is on par with the last racing season and probably the highest for a monsoon racing centre in India," Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) chairman Vivek Jain told reporters at a press conference held here today.
The Pune season's only two Grade 1 races remain The Nanoli Stud Pune Derby and The McDowell Signature Indian St Leger.
The Southern Command Cup Day, one of the season's highlights will be a special day this year. Under the leadership of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lt Gen A K Singh, the day will feature an aerial show and unique fanfare to mark the strengthening relationship between the RWITC and the army, he said.
