Three Navi Mumbai policemen were Saturday booked for allegedly demanding a bribe from a film editor, a Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau official said.

Navi Mumbai ACB inspector Ashwini Kusurkar identified the three policemen as Sanjay Agone, Santosh Avgadhe and Pradeep Rathod attached to Vashi police station.

The accused had demanded Rs 3 lakh from a film editor for not filing a complaint after claiming that the latter was using pirated software, the official said.

"They later reduced the bribe amount to Rs 1 lakh and accepted Rs 60,000 out of this amount. The victim approached the ACB later claiming the three were demanding Rs 40,000," the official said.

A case has been registered at Vashi police station under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the official said, adding that no arrests had been made so far.
