Three members of a family, including a minor girl, were today killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck on Tarapur-Vataman highway in the district, police said.
"Three persons of a family, including an eight-year old girl, were killed this evening, when a speeding truck hit the bike on which they were riding near Fatehpura village on Tarapur Vataman highway in the district," Sub Inspector V B Patel of Vataman police station said.
The victims, identified as Vikram Bharvad (35), his wife Meena (33) and their daughter Rajal, died on the spot.

The deceased, who belonged to Sendhara village of Dhandhuka taluka of Ahmedabad district, were going to Vataman village in Dhandhuka taluka when the incident took place around 5.30 pm. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
The driver of the truck fled from the spot after the incident, Patel said.
The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver under IPC sections 304 (A) (causing death due to negligence) and 279 (rash driving), Patel said.
