Three of a family killed in road mishap in Maharashtra

Three persons of a family were killed today after a trailer rammed into the vehicle in which they were travelling in Nandgaon Khandeshwar tehsil of the district, police said.

The incident took place this morning on the Sakhli river bridge near Mangrul Chawhala village when the deceased were returning home after attending a marriage, Police Inspector of Nadgaon police station Shailesh Shelke said.

The deceased were identified as Bhaurao Deorao Dabhade (55), Manda Bhaurao Dabhade (50) and Vikrm Bhaurao Dabhade (23), all residents of Amravati.

Local staged a protest against the incident and blocked traffic on the Aurangabad-Nagpur highway for about six hours.
 

Traffic was restored following a written assurance from Nandgaon Khaneshwar tehsildar BV Wahurwagh to open a sanctioned police station immediately and construct a speed breaker at the accident spot.
