Three members of a Bhopal- based family were today killed and two others were seriously injured when their car collided head-on with a dumper-truck on the Rehti-Nasrullaganj road in the district, police said.

The mishap took place between Bori and Semri villages when the victims were returning from Narmada riverbank at Budhni town where they had gone to immerse the ashes of a member of a family who had died recently, Rehti Police Station in-charge Anil Tiwari said.

As Bhopal-Budhni road is in a very bad condition, they took the longer Rehti-Nasrullaganj route.

All the three were killed on the spot, Tiwari said.

The deceased were identified as Govind Chaturvedi (58), his brother Lokmani (69) and Lokmani's son Pankaj (35).

Two seriously injured persons including their neighbour were admitted in a hospital in Bhopal.
