The trio, who are yet to be identified, approached the railway track near Kethavaram railway station, 25 km away from here, at around 1500 hrs with an intention to commit suicide. However, they developed a cold feet and tried to run away but were run over by the Bokaro Express headed towards Visakhapatnam, they said.
Police are ascertaining the motive behind their suicide bid.
A case has been registered in this regard and investigations are on, they added.
