Three of a family, including two women, were killed, while two others were injured when their car rammed into a roadside tree at Elamangalam village near here early today, police said.
The incident occurred early this morning when the family members were returning to Pennadam in the district, after visiting a temple in South Tamil Nadu.
While three persons were killed on the spot, two others sustained injuries and were admitted to a government hospital in Thittakkudi, they said.
