Three persons arrested for killing elephant

Three persons were arrested today in connection with the killing of an elephant in Betla jungle under Palamau Tiger Reserve in Latehar district, a Forest department official said.

A hunt was on to apprehend two others, who are at large, the official added.

Meanwhile, the autopsy of the dead animal revealed that it was shot dead.

A full grown male tusker was shot dead in a jungle allegedly by locals yesterday.
