SSP Manu Maharaj claimed that the three killers have admitted that they had strangulated the couple to death and looted cash, jewellery and other valuable items.
The trio said that they had killed the couple on Saturday, news about which became public on Sunday.
SSP, who had constituted four teams under City SP (Central) for investigation, said that on Bhushan Yadav's information his two accomplices were arrested from Jehanabad.
Yadav, who worked as a gardener at the house of Vipin Bihari Das, the former Mahanth of a Mutt in Begusarai, was removed from job after working for one year. But he used to visit the Das residence frequently, he added.
SSP claimed that the trio had hatched a plan to kill them on Diwali but could not do so and hence they decided to choose 'Kharna', the second day of four day long Chhath festival, for eliminating the couple as most of the people would be engaged in the puja.
The police also questioned some of the people working in the bungalow besides inquiring with the son and daughter-in-law of the couple.
