Three persons were today killed and five persons injured, one seriously, when the car in which they were travelling went out of control and rammed into a house and tree on the roadside.
Police said the seriously injured has been admitted to JIPMER hospital, while the others were treated as out-patients.
It was stated that the car went out of control when the driver tried to avoid hitting a dog and it swerved, hitting a roadside house and also a tree, in the wee hours.
The car was en route to Puducherry from Chennai.
