An accused in a looting case and his two accomplices fired on a police party which had gone near Nagla Samal area in his search, police said today.
Three bike-borne persons including Upendra, wanted in a case of looting, fired upon the police personnel who were on their way to Nagla Samal in his search on Tuesday, SHO of Kotwali Dehat police station Vinod Kumar said.
When the culprits were surrounded by police personnel they left behind their motorcycle and fled, he said, adding the motorbikes and mobile phones were recovered from the spot.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway, police said.
