Three persons killed in road accident in Assam

Three persons were killed when a gas tanker hit them and then dashed against a tree in Sonitpur district today.

According to police officials, the three person lost their lives on the spot this morning in a road accident at Bihguri in Sonitpur district .

While having morning walk, two pedestrians were hit by the tanker going towards Dhekiajuli on the National Highway-15, the police said.

After hitting them, the vehicle lost control and dashed into a tree on roadside, resulting in detaching of the gas tank from the cabin of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was also killed on the spot, police said.
 

The two pedestrians have been identified as Madan Baruah (55) and his grandson Debasish Baruah (7), while the driver of tanker was identified as Maqbul Husain Talukdar.
