Police today arrested three members of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and seized arms from them.

The police arrested the trio after a raid at a house at Gobira near Kuanrmunda. Four of the PLFI members along with the area commander Biswajit Bhagat, were hiding in the house, police said.

The police said the PLFI activists had come here to collect money from a businessman of the area. They were waiting for the money to arrive, however, to their surprise, the police appeared in the scene, police said.

The PLFI, based in neighbouring Jhrakhand, often ventures into this side of the border to commit crime. As soon as they realised that they were surrounded by the police one of them fired on the raiding party, police said.

Police also retaliated. Though they could manage to flee to nearby jungle, the police search operation could nab them. However, another managed to escape.

Police seized one country made pistol and five live cartridges from their posession.
