Three precious idols stolen from temple

Unidentified thieves stole three precious idols from a temple in Bihar's Supaul district, a police officer said today.

The incident took place late last night as the thieves entered into the Ramjanakti Temple located in market area by breaking grill of the shrine and decamped with three idols of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman, Pipra police station in-charge Chandan Kumar said.

The stolen idols, said to about 48 years old, were made of Astadhatu stone, he said, adding its value was being assessed.

A case has been lodged in this connection and raids were being carried out to recover the stolen idols, the police officer said.
