Three quintals of adulterated sweets seized

Police have seized three quintals of adulterated sweets from Sikka village in Shamli.

Acting on a tip-off police intercepted a car and seized adulterated rasgullas yesterday, Circle Officer Nishank Sharma said.

A sample of the item was taken for laboratory testing by food inspector Pawan Kumar, he said, adding the potentially harmful food product was destroyed.

The adulterated haul of sweets was being smuggled from Meerut to Saharanpur.
