Three rail coaches damaged in fire incident

Three coaches of Jaisalmer- Delhi Intercity Express were damaged in a fire at Jaisalmer railway station but there was no loss of life, an official said.

The blaze started in an empty coach of the train yesterday. It later spread to two other coaches, but there was no loss to human life, PRO of North Western Railway's Jodhpur Division Gopal Sharma said.

"The 14660 Jaisalmer-Delhi Intercity Express was parked at the platform. Suddenly, coach number S2 caught fire, which spread to coaches S1 and S3," he said.

"The coaches were replaced and the train left for Jodhpur at 5.30 PM, around 30 minutes behind schedule," Sharma said, adding, "We have constituted a committee of three officials to probe the incident.
