Sahibabad police nabbed three robbers after an encounter in which a police constable and a burglar received bullet injuries, police said today.
According to ASP Asheesh Srivastav, around 2.30 am, a police team tried to intercept two motorcycles during routine patrolling.
As the riders tried to flee, one of them lost control of the vehicle and fell on the ground, while the other managed to escape, he said, adding that the police encircled the motorcycle which had three riders who started firing at them.

The police too fired in retaliation, said the ASP, adding that during the exchange, constable Pankaj Kumar and one of the miscreants received bullet injuries.
Both were admitted to a hospital, he said.
Those arrested were identified as Saheen (the injured), Rubel and Ashu. They have confessed to have committed numerous cases of burglary, said the ASP.
Police have recovered the motorcycle which was reportedly used in criminal activities, two gold rings, a pair of silver anklets, Rs 35,000 in cash and two country-made pistols from the possession of the accused, said the officer.
