Three persons were today shot dead allegedly by a rival group at a village in Hamirpur district over an old enmity, police said here.
The incident occurred about 1.30 PM in village Akauna in Rath area of Hamipur when Babulal (35), Dhaniram (55) and Munna (45) were shot at by five people with their licenced fire arms, police said.
All the three died on the spot, while one other, identified as Parmeshwari Dayal, was injured in the incident, they said.
An FIR has been lodged and the matter is being probed, police said, adding that no arrests have so far been made in the case.
