Three sick ITBP jawans rescued from Kedarnath area

Three ITBP jawans stuck in Kedarnath area for the last six days were evacuated by air today and brought here.

The jawans were taken back on Army's 'Cheetah' helicopter after they became frail and weak in the upper reaches of the Garhwal. They were air lifted from Gaurikund.

The troops were stuck here since June 19.

"Two constables and an Assistant Sub-Inspector were brought here after they developed symptoms of weakness.

Close to 80 men are still in the area," a senior Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force officer said.

The force is now planning to evacuate more of its troops stuck in Kedarnath and Gaurikund axis.
