Three students held for trafficking drug on national highway

Three college students here have been arrested on charges of drug trafficking and allegedly 450 grams of heroin and charas seized from their possession, police said today.

Acting on tip-off police yesterday nabbed B.Com students Vikas Choudhry and Mukesh, and a B.Sc student Shakil, all residents of Bulandshahr, from the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway, Station House Officer (SHO), Newlands Police station, Arun Kumar said.

During interrogation the accused confessed to their involvement in drug trafficking along with some other members, the SHO said.

The trio has been arrested under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and further proceedings were underway, he said.
