Three suspected ultras held in Chhattisgarh

Three suspected CPI (Maoist) cadres were arrested during a joint operation by security forces in Sukma district today, police said.

"They were apprehend by a squad of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and district force from separate places under Gadiras police station area," Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh told PTI.

The joint operation was launched to trace and apprehend some wanted cadres of Gadiras region, located around 450 kms from capital Raipur, he said.

On reaching Padwaras village, the squad rounded up two rebels, identified as Vijay Sodhi (35) and Dewa Sodhi (32), while Kunjami Dewa (26) was held from Bhusaras village, the ASP said.
 

They were allegedly involved in looting ballot boxes and polling materials during last year's panchayat election, he added.
