Three teams set up by Delhi govt to study projects in Gujarat

Three teams have been set up by the Delhi government to study electricity generation through solar power, Sabarmati Riverfront Project and CCTV-based city surveillance system in Gujarat.

The teams comprising senior officers of the government, power distribution companies and experts today left on a visit to the state to study successful projects in different fields, officials said.

They said one team will study solar power projects in the state and see the possibility of taking up such power projects and promoting solar power in Delhi.

This team comprises the Power Secretary, Secretary in the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Environment Secretary and representatives of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, representatives of New Delhi Municipal Council, executive officer of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Management Centre and representatives of Delhi Transco and DISCOMs.
 

Another team consisting of Environment Secretary, Delhi Jal Board CEO, Additional Commissioner (Landscape) of DDA, Chief Engineer in Irrigation and Flood Control and a representative of PWD, among others, will study the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's Sabarmati Riverfront Project which has been described as an environmental improvement and urban rejuvenation project.

The team will study the Sabarmati Riverfront Project and suggest how the concept can be used for effective implementation of Yamuna River Front Development Scheme in the national capital.

The third team comprising senior Delhi Police Officers, including Joint Commissioner (Traffic) and DCP (Communication), has been sent to Surat city to study the CCTV- based City surveillance System.

The system has been helpful in prevention and detection of crime.
