Three TPC operatives arrested

Three persons of the ultra outfit Trutiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) were arrested following an encounter with the district armed police in Suva village under Hydernagar police station in Palamau district today, the police said.

Based on a tip off that TPC squad members have assembled for a meeting, the Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area when the ultras started firing at them, said Superintendent of Police, Mayur Patel.

The police retaliated in self-defence, forcing the ultras to make a hasty retreat, he said adding the police had launched a massive search operation following the encounter and arrested three TPC members identified as Rajendra alias Badal ji, Pankaj Bhuiyan and Manoj Kharwar.
 

Police also recovered two .315 bore gun and one regular rifle from their possession, Patel added.
