Three TTP members arrested in Pak

Pakistan police today claimed to have arrested three members of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban for their involvement in bomb last month in which some 50 people were killed and over a 100 injured.

SSP Chaudhary Aslam also told reporters that they arrested three activists of the TTP who had confessed to carrying out the bomb blasts in Abbas town in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Aslam said the three were arrested after they were returning from Waziristan where they had gone after carrying out the bomb blasts.

The bomb disposal squad also diffused a one kilogramme bomb fitted in a motorcycle which was parked near a well known mosque in Gulzar-e-Habib in Garden area.
 

"A major disaster has been averted as hundreds of people come to the mosque to offer Friday prayers," he said.

Meanwhile, a police officer was arrested after he confessed to killing fellow policemen and links with the TTP.

"He has during interrogation confessed he was also involved in the killing of fellow policemen including ASI Fayyaz, Inspector Gul and others," a police official said.

This is the first time that a serving police officer has been found to have links with the TTP and admitted to be working for them.
