Three Uzbek women among five rescued from flesh trade

Goa Police today busted a prostitution racket and rescued five women, including three Uzbekistan nationals, from a lodge and arrested two men.

The racket was operated from a guest house located near famous Calangute beach, said police inspector Jivba Dalvi.

The arrested men, identified as Dhananjay Kumar Mohanty and Chandan Mahapatra, hailed from Odisha.

Out of the five women, two hailed from Mumbai and Hyderabad.

"The women were later produced before Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Mapusaand shifted to Protective Home- Merces," said the police officer.

A case was registered under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, he said.
