A three-year-old female elephant in the Theppakkadu camp coming under Mudumalai Tiger Reserce died of diarrhoea today.
The elephant, Kaveri, was suffering from some illness for the last three days and yesterday she developed vomiting and loose motion, Vijayaraghavan, forest veterinarian, looking after the camp elephants, said.
Despite being attended to by four doctors, the elephant died this afternoon, he said.
The elephant was christened as Kaveri by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
