A three-year-old girl today fell into an abandoned borewell in Vadod village of Umrala tehsil in Bhavnagar and was stuck inside as rescue teams rushed to the spot.
"The girl fell into a borewell, around 600 ft deep, at around 4 pm. She is stuck at the depth of 28 feet," Bhavnagar collector P K Solanki said.
The girl was identified as Kalpana. Her parents work as farm labourers in the village.
A rescue team had reached the spot with necessary equipment, Solanki said. "A Sub divisional Magistrate has reached the spot with the teams of fire brigade and others," he said.
The well was being supplied with oxygen to save her from asphyxiation, he added.
