Three-year RI to RPF inspector for taking Rs 1500 bribe

A special CBI court here today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to a Railway Protection Force (RPF) sub inspector for taking a bribe of Rs 1500.

The court found Ganesh Kumar Prajapati guilty of taking Rs 1500 bribe from a shopowner on April 16, 2010 at Hoshangabad railway station for running his business smoothly.

The sentence was awarded by Special CBI Judge, Manoj Shrivastava after CBI filed a charge sheet under relevant sections of Prevenion of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988.

The court also awarded two years sentence and imposed a fine of Rs 5000 under a related section of PC Act and three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 under sections another section of the same law of 1988.
 

Both the sentences will run concurrently.
