Tibetan settlements in Karnataka promised continued support

The Karnataka government has assured it would continue supporting Tibetan settlements in the state at a meeting with representatives of the Tibetan government in exile.

Issues relating to Tibetan residents of the state were discussed at the meeting attended by Karnataka chief secretary SV Ranganath in Bangalore on May 20, the Tibetan government in exile said today.

The secretaries of the Karnataka state home, revenue and rural development departments and other officials, too, attended the meeting.

Sonam Topgyal Khorlastang, home secretary, and Chemi Rinzin, additional secretary, along with the chief of the Federation of Tibetan Cooperative Societies in India, were the Tibetan representatives at the meeting.
