Workers of the Tibetan Youth Congress were today detained while protesting outside the Chinese Embassy here on the eve of the Tibetan National Uprising Day, police said.
Around 60-70 workers of the Tibetan Youth Congress had gathered outside the embassy. They were detained and taken to the Chanakyapuri police station and released after a couple of hours, a senior official said.
Tibetans commemorate the anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising on March 10 by paying tribute to those who "sacrificed" their lives for "independence" of Tibet.
