Tibor Jones South Asia Prize for new writers in January

A panel of judges from the literary circuit led by Delhi-based publisher and writer Urvashi Butalia will select the best unpublished novel by a South Asian writer unrepresented by a literary agent, a release by the organisers said today.

On January 10, during the AKLF, the winner will receive a cash reward of Rs one lakh along with a prized literary representation by Tibor Jones & Associates, London's leading literary agency.

Kevin Conroy Scott, founder and director of Tibor Jones & Associates said, "Investing in the infrastructure of Indian writing is a long held ambition of ours at Tibor Jones. I hope that the award encourages aspiring writers from across South Asia to get their work finished so that their voices can be heard".

 

Submissions of manuscripts for the 2013 prize are now open till 12 November.
