TiECON 7th Annual Meet to identify four start ups

The seventh edition of annual summit of TiECON Chennai chapter would bring four start up companies established in the last five years that have the ability to become billion dollar companies, organisers said today.

During the two day annual meet scheduled to be held on October 31 and November one in city, the theme would be on -- I can do it", according to TiE Chennai, President and Member, Board of Trustees, TiE Global, Lakshmi Narayanan.

The committee of the TiECON Chennai would scan start-ups that were founded during the last five years, identify four of them that have the potential to become "billion dollar babies" and showcase them at TiECON Chennai 2014, he said in a statement.
 

About 1,500 delegates comprising entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, regulators, bankers and students would be participating in the two day event.

"...I am confident that the Billion Dollar Baby programme at this year's TiECON Chennai 2014 will serve as a platform for encouragement and recognition, and instill the 'I Can Do It's the culture and mind set among the aspiring entrepreneurs...," Narayanan said.

Not-for-profit organisation TiE currently has 61 chapters across 17 countries and has about 13,000 members. TiE Chennai is a vibrant chapter with 165 charter members and more than 600 associate members, the release said.
