Press Trust of India Chandrapur
A tiger was found dead in

Brahmapuri division of forest in the district today.

The officials believe that the tiger, around 4-5 years of age, got killed during a territorial fight with another big cat.

The decomposed carcass was spotted by the forest staff in Dongargaon beat under Sindewahi range in morning,

"The big cat is not in the list of identified tigers in the area. It might have entered from adjoining forest into the area that belongs to a full-grown tiger.

"During autopsy, a couple of deep injuries were found on its neck that resulted in breaking of its vertebra, by the attacking male. All the body parts were found intact and hence the question of poaching is ruled out," said Chief Conservator of Forests (Chandrapur Division), Sanjay Thakre.
